Privacy policy

This policy explains what information TickerHum (tickerhum.com) handles when you use it. TickerHum is a free, educational stock research tool. It has no accounts, and it does not ask for your name, email address or any other personal details.

What we collect

We do not set our own cookies, use local storage, or run analytics or tracking tools.

When you load a page or search for a stock, your browser sends a request to our website and to our data service (api.tickerhum.com). Like almost every website, the services that host them receive technical information with each request — your IP address, browser type, the address requested and the time — and may keep it in short-lived logs to operate and secure the service. We do not use these logs to identify you or build a profile of you.

The stock symbols you search for or compare are used only to answer that request. They are not linked to you.

Advertising and cookies

TickerHum shows ads from Google AdSense, which helps cover the cost of running the site. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.

Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

Services we rely on

Vercel hosts the website, Railway hosts the data service, and Cloudflare provides DNS and network protection for the data service. Each processes requests on our behalf.

Your browser loads fonts from Google Fonts and ads from Google AdSense, so Google receives the technical information described above when you visit.

Market data, company filings and headlines are fetched by our servers from Yahoo Finance, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC EDGAR) and Google News. Your browser does not contact those providers, and we send them no information about you.

Links to filings and news articles take you to other websites, which have their own privacy policies.

Sharing and selling

We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it except with the service providers above, as needed to run the site, or where the law requires it.

Children

TickerHum is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Your choices and rights

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and use the ad opt-outs above. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information and to object to certain processing. Because we hold no accounts or profiles, we usually have nothing that identifies you, but you can contact us and we will help with any request.

Changes to this policy

If what we collect or how we use it changes, we will update this page and its date.
